The BAMA Indigenous Stock Exchange (BAMA ISX) is about capturing investment dollars and resources in practical forms that can be used to empower Indigenous enterprises and businesses throughout Australia.
The BAMA Indigenous Stock Exchange (BAMA ISX) offers opportunities for valuable investment into Indigenous business throughout Australia. There are 2 main ways in which the BAMA ISX supports Indigenous business and attracts investors input into the development and sustainability of Indigenous Australia.
The online Trading Floor on the ISX website provides Indigenous business entrepreneurs with the opportunity to showcase their business ventures and seek investment opportunities with donors making funding deposits directly to their chosen enterprise. Alternatively funds can be donated to BAMA ISX who then review the enterprises and choose the most appropriate business or businesses to fund.
Each year, one or more BAMA ISX Trading Floors are held throughout Australian communities providing opportunities for the development and funding of new Indigenous business. The most recent Trading Floor was held in Roebourne, Western Australia in June 2006. Once again the Trading Floor demonstrated that the Indigenous community are ready and willing to run small businesses in a diverse variety of sectors including cultural tourism, arts, fashion and health.
The ISX Trading Floor in Roebourne gave local people the opportunity to develop and enhance their business skills through a variety of workshop sessions with business professionals whilst also giving them the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to potential investors
