Tahnee Carrie is a singer-songwriter hailing from the magically creative town of Broome W.A. It was songwriting that first put her in the music game when she won the Pan-Pacific songwriting contest at 14. She went on to play rhythm guitar and sing in bands for the next 12 years. She says that she's always loved harmonizing behind a strong female rock vocal - playing with textures around that solid foundation. But she says "My true love has always been songwriting.Taking someone in a bar or whatever far,far away, back to a memory or to a strong feeling - with just a song."
As a solo artist Tahnee has played her music for audiences throughout WA, from Albany to Fitzroy Crossing. She is influenced by artists like Paul Kelly and Sheryl Crow who "never waste a line". She delivers strong melodies and artful stories with a rich voice, backed with acoustic guitar ranging from thumb-picking lovely-dovely to flat out Ani- inspired mad rhythm. A modest, wonderfully honest and natural entertainer, Tahnee Carrie continues to perform and write about "the most intriguing subject of all ..." People.
