"Backyard Country" are a talented family of country musicians from the remote Aboriginal communities of the Dampier Peninsula in far north Western Australia.
The 6 members of "Backyard Country" have been together for 10 years and during this time have performed a plethora of original material throughout the Kimberley region where music is popular and has the capacity to add sunshine to so many lives.
"Backyard Country" are beginning to make themselves known within Australian Country Music circles and in January 2007 the band was invited to fly east for the Tamworth Country Music Festival. They performed daily to large crowds building themselves a loyal following with their catchy tunes, vibrant stage presence, relaxed Kimberley manner and the family's sheer passion for country music.
2007 will see "Backyard Country" produce their long awaited debut album amidst a number of performances showcasing their incredible talent including the 2007 Kimberley Indigenous Performing Arts Showcase held at Broome's Goolarri Outdoor Venue.
"Backyard Country" continues to bring life to the stories of their lives and their connection to the land as they grow in popularity not only within their home region but throughout Australia.
